Allah say's clearly in the Glorious Quran that had he willed to make Mankind one community he would have done so.

If your Lord had so willed he could have made humanity one people, but they will not cease to disagree. Except those on whom your Lord has bestowed His mercy. And for this He did create them. And the word of your Lord shall be fulfilled: 'I will fill Hell with jinn and men all together'." [Sûrah Hûd: 118-119]

If Allah had willed, he could have created humanity as one community united by a single frame of mind. This is how He created the angels. They all obey Allah with single-minded and unquestioning devotion. However, He decided to endow humanity with free will and make them a creation that could be tried and that would be tested. He wanted to give them the chance to accept either guidance or error. He wanted to give them the choice between good and evil. They needed to have the ability not only to work righteousness, but to be able to engage in corruption as well.


When Allah says "but they will not cease to disagree", he is speaking about something that He, with His all-encompassing knowledge, knows is going to take place in the world. Allah created humanity with a unique set of attributes. These attributes allow people to disagree. He gave them the free will to choose between faith and unbelief and between righteousness and sin. Therefore, in the world there will be people who will choose to believe and others who will choose to reject faith. This is why Allah says: "And for this He did create them." This is how these verses should be understood.

Truth would always be true and falsehood would always be false. In other words truth and falsehood are things which are easy to realise. In other words they are very clear and simple. The truth is that most people in the world are submitting themselves to things which is bound to perish i.e. man, women, money, drugs and other desires. I think he was trying to highlight the fact that we are all human beings, we were created to be better than animals who do nothing more than these things, which for an animal is perfectly acceptable. However for people, we are more than animals who eat, drink, sleep and have sexual intercourse.

We understand the difference between right and wrong, we do not eat anything we find, we distinguish between eating good permitted foods and eating/taking harmful drugs, intoxicants, pork, cannibalism and so on, we drink good drinks and stay away from alcohol, we distinguish between reckless sexual activity with strangers, prostitutes and animals, and limit it to healthy relationships within the context of marriage.

We understand that our actions have consequences and that we have rights and responsibilities that we are obliged to fulfil. We understand the difference between justice and oppression.

An animal doesn't have to worry about these things but we should and must if we wish to distinguish ourselves from the animals.

However, you did not answer my question: If He is All-Powerful, All Compassionate and All Merciful, why would he allow for some of his creations to perish in Hellfire? Surely his utter and complete mercy would prevent him allowing even one of his creations, no matter how evil, from such a fate. If He is not willing to do that, how can He be All Merciful?
And He is All Powerful, so it was He who gave us the ability to choose right from wrong. Yet how can we be held ultimately responsible for that ability, if it was He who gave it to us? I cannot agree with you at all. Truth and falsehood are more often that not subjective. I have seen, countless times throughout my life, how one man's 'truth' is another man's falsehood, and that goes for religion especially. I once argued for a whole hour, going round and round, with a taxi driver in Jordan who told me unequivocally and with great insistence, and complete disregard for what I believed, that the Truth as stated in Islam is that, for instance, I should not drink alcohol, eat pork, and that the Qur'an was the book for all Mankind. I replied that as a Christian, I felt (and feel) in no way bound by them and that the Truth of Christianity and the society in which I was brought up in permit such things, and that for me the Bible was my Book. That doesn't mean I cannot respect such rules or that I consider them False, but my issue was that he was incapable of tolerating such a thought, which anyways seemed to me to be at odds with the fact that as a Christian I am min Ahl al Kitaab, and that my religion and beliefs should be tolerated by him. I am always open to a kind and thoughtful da'wa, but am as for being told my beliefs are incorrect, that is childish - they are not incorrect to me, no matter how far they do not agree with his own.
As for the instinct to worship, humans have always sought someone or something to worship, for many thousands of years before monotheism became prevalent. Please do not try and suggest that they have always instinctively looked for One God, as they have not. Surely you are familiar with the fact that Arabians before Islam and the Prophet Muhammed tended to worship a pantheon of Gods? And that Al-Lah - literally 'THE God' (with a big G) in Arabic - was regarded as chief, but definitely not alone, amongst the deities worshipped?

My essential point though is: throughout my life I have heard heard Sunnis, Shia'as, Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Hindus, Buddhists and many others tell me that they have 'The TRUTH' ; that their own holy book is 'The WORD', and that their traditions, rituals and practices are 'The ONLY WAY' to reach 'THE TRUTH', but most importantly that NOBODY ELSE has THE TRUTH - so how can anyone actually have the truth? With regard to the comments made by Anjim Choudary and his wish to impose Sharia'h Law on the UK. Firstly there is no such thing as the Sharia'h Court of The UK, the only court recognized by the UK is that sanctioned by: British Courts of Justice/Parliament/in the name of Her Majesty The Queen and of course the people, also the European Courts of Justice which have some influence, not total influence on our legal system English law is based upon 'The Common Law' or law common to all people, we must have got something right in the past because it has been adopted by so many other countries and retained even when we relinquished our control over those countries.

Secondly, Unlike Sharia'h law, English and British law generally operates only through the consent of the people, we can of course, if there are enough people in agreement and Parliament agrees, alter certain aspects of it to better reflect the views of the majority.This is called freedom, one word you ill not find in Sharia'h law because it has no concept of freedom written into it.

You asked why would Allah allow some of his creation to perish in the hell fire. As i stated man has to earn his own salvation not like in christianity where it's given to you on a plate. There are certain sins Allah will not forgive i.e shirk. Allah is the most compasionate (one of his attributes), for example you may sin all your life and at the end of it repent with a sincere heart for all your wrong doing and Allah the compasionate will forgive you.

Now your asking me why would Allah allow people to perish - why should Allah create heaven and hell, life and death, repentance etc if you were not to be judged for your actions. Do you think Allah created the heavens and earth for mere play?

Why do you blame Allah for allowing his creation to go to hell that is their fault, it is what their hands have earned. They were given freedom of action and if they choose to do wrong it's down to them. How will Allah seperate the good from bad if he does not test mankind? why create everyone of his creation for paradise there would be no point of inner struggle, right from wrong, belief from disbelief. We are created different from the angels as you have said.

You see as Allah sent messengers to mankind to constantly guide them back to the truth they kept slipping, Allah's prophets peace be upon them all - guided them back to the straight path.
